What Are Delta 9 Products?
As a cannabis connoisseur, you are sure to comprehend the difference between THC and CBD. However, you may not be clear on what the difference is between THC, CBD, and the new generation of Delta 8 and Delta 9 products. Below is everything you need to know to make an informed wellness decision. Many of our clients alternate between the products that are legal in their state to enjoy the wellness benefits of CBD, the mild high of Delta 9 THC, or the full high of marijuana.
What is Delta 9 THC?
THC is short for delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol. This is the psychoactive component in strains of the cannabis plant. CBD, which is legal in all 50 states, does not contain enough THC to get you high. That is unless you purchase a hemp-derived strain of Delta 9. While Delta 9 is present in marijuana, when people refer specifically to “Delta 9”, they are typically referring to the hemp-derived strain.
The Farm Bill of 2018 makes all strains of industrial hemp legal as long as the plant’s dry weight is less than 0.3% THC. This is not enough THC to get you high. The new generation of hemp-derived products extract the THC in hemp at a level that is strong enough to get you high. Since derived from hemp, in our opinion, these products are legal in most states.
However, there is more than one new generation product to choose from.
Is Delta 8 or Delta 9 better?
Which cannabis product is right for you depends on your individual wellness objectives. As with all cannabis products, it is important to understand what you are purchasing.
Delta 8 is a minor cannabinoid that is challenging to extract in high quantities. To create a strong enough extract to get you high, it is synthesized with the use of synthetic solvents. Industry-wide, there are concerns regarding the short and long-term side effects of these solvents. At Holmes Organics, we keep things natural—so Delta 8 is not the right fit for us.
Delta 9 is a major cannabinoid that is easy and inexpensive to extract without synthetic solvents. It is extracted with the widely used and accepted CO2 extraction method. Since it’s all-natural, this is the strain that Holmes Organics Delta 9 THC gummies are made from.
Does Delta 9 get you higher?
Marijuana provides the strongest high, but even then, you need to select the strain that achieves your objectives. For example, Indica strains are ideal for sleep and relaxation and Sativa strains are ideal for an energized high.
Delta 8 provides a much milder high than marijuana, which is often described as euphoric. Just like marijuana, it must be taken responsibly—no driving, operating heavy machinery, or doing anything unsafe or illegal to do while under the influence.
Delta 9 provides a lighter buzz than marijuana. It is often utilized to wind down at the end of a long day or to ease into sleep. Due to its intoxicating effects, it must be taken responsibly.
Our Delta 9 products have 5 milligrams of THC per serving and 25 milligrams of CBD. We suggest starting with half a gummy to see how your body responds. Factors such as your weight, age, genetics, and wellness needs will impact how your body responds.
As always, our CBD products do not have any intoxicating effects. Choose from oil, softgels, gummies, or our topical cream.
Is Delta 9 legal in the USA?
The legality of medicinal and recreational marijuana varies from one state to the next. In our opinion, Delta 9 derived from hemp plants with a dry weight of 0.3% or less THC, is legal in most states. This provides those who live in most states where marijuana is not legal, with a legal alternative to the wellness benefits of marijuana.
That being said:
- We do not sell Delta 9 to anyone under the age of 21.
- We do not ship Delta 9 to Oregon or Idaho.
- We ship our CBD products to all 50 states.
- Your school, employer, or extracurricular activity may prohibit the use of all hemp-derived products including CBD.
- If use is prohibited, you may not be allowed to bring your hemp-derived products (including CBD) to school or work.
- You should not fly or cross state lines with cannabis products.
- If you take cannabis products, you may fail your drug test.
Can Delta 9 make you feel a drug test?
Yes. Delta 8 and Delta 9 products come with the same risks of failing a drug test as marijuana. While the risk is lower with CBD, there are no guarantees that you won’t fail a drug test. The CBD industry is still young and widely unregulated. Not all CBD brands conduct unbiased third-party lab testing to ensure purity and THC content.
Holmes Organics is fully transparent and provides third-party lab results for every batch. Our CBD products are processed to contain 0.0% THC. Our Delta 9 Gummies contain 5 milligrams of THC per gummy.
How to choose Delta 9 products?
We suggest that you select your hemp-derived products with the same discernment you use to select the foods you eat. Many nutritional supplements are loaded up with additives and fillers to create a more cost-effective product. Synthetic food coloring and flavoring are often used for visual appeal and taste.
At Holmes Organics, our products are pure. Our Delta 9 gummies are flavored with natural ingredients.
